Useful Accessory? Or Insidious Trend?
The Man Purse. I know that they made the rounds with the edgy, sensative urban warrior types a few years ago, but now, they have gone main stream.

Yes. Target is now carrying man purses as accesories, right next to the belts and wallets.

Now, here is the quandry: I have a bunch of note books and stuff that I cart around for church business. Unfortunatly, they never seem to occuppy the same space at the same time, so I always end up at meetings unprepared, and then end up forgetting to do stuff I commited to. Not the big stuff, but the little, like sending out emails or forgetting to schedule stuff.

So I got to thinking that I should get all this stuff together in one useful transportation device, and my pick-up is not a useful transportation device when it comes to going into, say, Caribou. So I looked at some 'brief bags' and brief cases and they didn't really fit my needs...

...but the man purse?

I think a back pack will have to do.

For the record, I have had my "man purse" for at least five years. At the time, there really wasn't a man-purse trend. Instead, they were called "messenger bags." At that time, I referred to my bag as a man-purse because I thought it was funny to do so. Little did I realize that a massive trend of man-accesorizing was in the works.

I still think my bag is too big to be considered a man purse. My friend Josh has a purse-zized bag, but he got it in Peru (where his wife is from) and uses it to carry papers and whatnot.

I say if it serves a function and doesn't look "cute" you should use it. If anyone calls you a faerie or something, you can always 1) gut punch them to assert your manhood, 2) put out a cigar on their face to assert your manhood, or 3) run away screaming like a wee lass to confirm their suspicions.

It's all in the attitude. If you're accessorizing, it's a man-purse. If you're carrying stuff, it's just a bag.

HOLY BUCKETS! I took a peak at option 2 and it costs more than all the purses I own put together. Maybe I should go shopping at Coach for my next bag.

I use a diaper bag that Enfamil sent my wife. Basic black, not too bad. Cheap plastic, though, so I'll need to get one of the dozens of other cheap bags that I've been given over the years soon. :^)

I like the plumber's bag myself, though..

i got
that
in a light tan color instead of camo. it's got enough pockets to be an awesome bag for my classes, while still holding my phone/wallet/keys. and it was $15 on sale...I think if you get something cheap and functional it's manly enough.
